I am currently employed as V Project Coordinator within a voluntary organisation. I have been involved in the project since its establishment and have been instrumental in setting up many of the filing, procedures, and quality assurance systems. I work with young people aged 16-25, who largely find themselves excluded from society, coordinating and managing voluntary placements. I work predominantly on an outreach basis across the whole of the North of England managing my own caseload of volunteers and placements, delivering awareness raising presentations and attending regional and national forums.
Global Vision International, Antigua Guatemala (11/05-01/06)
Voluntary teacher in an Indigenous school in Guatemala. During a recent year travelling independently through Central and South America I undertook a voluntary placement teaching in an Indigenous School in Santa Maria de Jesus. I was responsible for planning and delivering lessons and teaching basic Spanish literacy and numeracy to children aged 5-13. Imagination and creativity was essential in planning interesting and stimulating lessons with very sparse resources. In addition I wrote weekly reports detailing the objectives taught and each child’s progress.

Whilst studying at University I maintained a part time job in Hutton’s Off-License. My main duties involved customer service, stock replenishment, receipt of deliveries, training new staff and end of day trading, where I was responsible for locking up the shop, handling large sums of money and compiling end of day trading reports. I was also frequently left in charge of the shop alone.
Holiday Break Eurocamp, Duinreill Holland, Guines France (06/04-09/04)
Eurocamp courier on sites in both Holland and France. The position involved a great deal of contact with customer throughout the duration of their stay. Main tasks involved; reception duties and administration, on-site bookings, courtesy visits, compiling information and welcome packs, advising customers about the local area, and cleaning and maintenance of the tents and mobiles.
